The PM Cluster Program held on the 9th of August 2023 was a significant event that brought together students and faculty members from the Project Management Club (PM Club). The event’s agenda was as follows:
- Welcome Speech by President of PM Club
The program commenced with a warm welcome address by the President of the PM Club. The President emphasized the importance of project management in today’s dynamic business environment and encouraged participants to make the most of the event. - “Oh Captain My Captain” Poem by Ifrath – 2nd Year
Ifrath, a second-year student, recited the captivating poem “Oh Captain My Captain.” The poem’s poignant lines resonated with the audience, touching on themes of leadership and inspiration. - Video Presentation by Co-editor Safir
Co-editor Safir presented an insightful video that highlighted the recent activities and achievements of the PM Club. The video showcased the collaborative spirit of the club and its efforts to enhance members’ project management skills. - HOD Speech
The Head of the Department (HOD) addressed the audience, emphasizing the role of project management in various industries. The HOD expressed pride in the achievements of the PM Club and its members. - PM Career Path Speech by Sakitha – 3rd Year
Sakitha, a third-year student, delivered an engaging speech on project management career paths. She shared her insights into the diverse opportunities available to individuals skilled in project management and provided guidance to those considering such a career. - Appreciation for Dean’s Achievement
A special appreciation was expressed for the Dean of the institution, who recently became the first professor in project management in the State University. The audience applauded the Dean’s achievement, recognizing the impact it would have on the field of project management education. - “The Will to Win” Poem by Dilhani – 1st Year
Dilhani, a first-year student, recited an inspiring poem titled “The Will to Win.” Her words resonated with determination, highlighting the importance of perseverance and dedication in the pursuit of success. - Ice Breaker Activity
An ice breaker activity was conducted to foster interaction among the participants. This activity aimed to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, allowing attendees to connect with one another. - Vice-Chancellor Speech
The Vice Chancellor graced the occasion with a motivating speech. The Vice Chancellor commended the efforts of the PM Club in organizing such an event and stressed the importance of project management education in shaping future leaders. - Vote of Thanks
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks extended by a representative from the organizing committee. Gratitude was expressed to all participants, speakers, and contributors for their valuable contributions to the success of the program.

- Lightning Oil Lamp: The event began with the lighting of the oil lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom, and seeking blessings for the successful commencement of the PM CLUSTER Program. The oil lamp lighten by Dean of the faculty, Head of the department, senior treasurer, Assistant lecturers of project management department, Ex-Co members, Students Representatives of all batches.
- Welcome Speech by Club President: The Club President Mr.Thushan Wichramasignhe delivered a warm and gracious welcome address, expressing gratitude to all the participants, faculty, and esteemed guests for their presence at the event.
- Introduction of the Executive Committee Members 2023/2024: The newly appointed Executive Committee Members were introduced, along with a brief overview of their roles and responsibilities for the academic year 2023/2024.
- Special Speech by Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies: The Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Dr.Y.Nanthagopan addressed the audience, highlighting the importance of project management in the business world and the significance of such programs in enhancing students’ skills.
- “A Torch for Life” Poem by Second-Year Student: A soul-stirring poem titled “A Torch for Life” was recited by a talented second-year student Mr.Najath Ahammed, inspiring everyone with its powerful message of resilience and determination.
- Speech by Head of the Department: The Head of the Department Mr.Thirugnanasampanthar delivered an informative speech, shedding light on the evolving trends in project management and the department’s efforts to provide quality education to the students.
- Role Play on Recruitment in PM Sector by Third-Year Students: Third-year students (Miss.T.Thurkka and Miss.N.Nithya) showcased their creativity through a role play that depicted real-life scenarios related to recruitment in the project management sector, providing insights into the challenges faced by hiring managers.
- Speech by Senior Treasurer: The Senior Treasurer and advisor of the club Mrs.S.Mathivathany shared the importance of this pm cluster program and she gave a wonderful presentation about the milestones of the project management club and its feature activities.
- Importance of Project Management in the Current Society – Speech by Second-Year Student: Another second-year student (Miss.Farha) took the stage to deliver a compelling speech on the significance of project management in addressing contemporary societal challenges.
- Awarding Certifications for Previous Quiz, Debate, and Photography Competitions: Students who excelled in previous academic competitions related to project management were recognized and awarded certifications for their outstanding achievements.
- Awarding Appreciation for Previous Executive Committee Members: The former Executive Committee members were acknowledged and appreciated for their dedication and hard work in organizing successful events and managing club activities.
- Vote of Thanks by Junior Treasurer: The event concluded with the Junior Treasurer expressing gratitude to all attendees and contributors for making the PM CLUSTER Program a memorable success.
The PM CLUSTER Program proved to be an enriching experience for all participants, fostering a spirit of learning, creativity, and teamwork among students and faculty members.
