Photography competition 2023 – Season 01 – Environmental Impacts and Projects
As the Project Management Club of the University of Vavuniya, we proudly organized and conducted the 5th Photography competition. The competition held between 24th to 30th July 2023 for all batches’ students of all universities and outside the University people.
Photography competition 2022 – Season 02 – ‘RURAL LIFE’
As the Project Management Club of Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya we proudly commenced our fourth season of photography competition on 22nd October 2022 under the theme of “RURAL LIFE”.
Over 50 participants were participated to this competition and first three winners were selected respectively,
- 1st Place – R.M.ilham
- 2nd Place – T. Thurkka
- 3rd Place – W.G.Sanjaya Dilshan Kumara
All the winner of the photography competition are going to be rewarded on 20th December 2022, in the Project Management Day celebration function at University of Vavuniya. The judge of the competition was Mr.Abdul Azeez Mohammadu Aswar, Media Trainer and Media Consultant. While selecting the best meaningful photos the following criterions has been considered.
- The alignment with the real meaning of the theme
- Color combination
- Angled setup
Though it was an open competition there was a high positive engagement of outside participants. The ultimate objective of conducting such photography competitions to give high motivation to youth generation and motivate them to develop their skills to survive in society.
Photography competition 2022 – Season 01 – ‘Pandemic and Daily Life’
The Project Management Club of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya commenced the second season of the photography competition on January 12th 2022. The official flyer was launched on 12th January 2022 and the photos have been collected through PM Club email pmclub.uov@gmail.com and WhatsApp on or before 20th of January 2022.
The photography competition was held under the theme of “Pandemic and Daily Life”. Many of our lives have been changed due to pandemic. Therefore, the Ex-Co members decided to find and award the creative photographers in the above theme. The total number of participants was 35, and among them three persons selected as 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners. Mr.Ishaq (Specialized in photography and videography) was the judge of the competition.
Following the given theme and meaning of the photos, composition and angled setup of the photos has been considered when selecting the winners for the competition. All the winners were received a valuable certificate in the PM Day celebration. All certificate certified by the Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies and Head of the Department of Project Management for dedication and excellent perform on the photography competition Ex-Co members of the PM Club believe that the Photography Competition Season-02 was successfully completed with the active participants from outside of the University than our first photography competition.

Photography competition 2021 – Season 01- Mother and Nature
As the Project Management Club of University of Vavuniya we have organized an open photography competition to celebrate World Youth Day on 12th of August 2021. The main purpose of this competition was to encourage the students on photography and improve their creativity. The winners were selected by the audience by the voting systems in this competition. As the PM Club exco members planned, the winning prizes for the winners were rewarded by a reload like Rs.1000/=, Rs.500/= and Rs.300/= for 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place respectively.
The announcement was given to the people through a poster via social medias and faculty website about the competition. The 315 photos all over the country were received which were sent by competitors by 10th of August 2021. Once collected photos, the voting round was started until the midnight of 11th of August 2021. Then, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were announced on 12th of August 2021 according to the votes to their photos. The e-flyer of the competition is following:
