Fund Raising 5 – Club T-Shirt Printing and Sales
As the Project Management Club, we printed a T-shirt for raising fund for the Club. We hope to take orders from the students and staff of University of Vavuniya and this sold within the University. We planned to use University logo, Club logo and name for the T-shirt like Faculty of Business Studies, Project Management Club, Design of T Shirt – 2020/2021, Colour – Dark Blue, Material – Cotton and Design Material – Embroider. Purchased a t-shirt Rs.1000 and sold it to Rs.1200/=. Total profit is Rs 45,200/-.
Fund Raising 4 – Earning from Food Carnival
As the Project Management Club of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, we entered into a fundraising activity by setting a food Carnival, to university students, staff, and outside people as well in order to raise funds for the project management club’s future activities. For that, we made different cultural foods and drinks, and sold them out to university students, staff, and outside people.
Fund Raising 3 – Setting Business Mall – SED Mini Fair
The Project Management Club of University of Vavuniya participated as one of the sellers in the Market event (SED Mini Fair) organized by Vavuniya District Secretariat Small Enterprise Development Unit in collaboration with Vavuniya University’s Business Linkage unit on 24th May 2023 at Pambaimadhu.
The club participation in the market event was a rewarding experience by small investment and profit by selling the following food and handy craft items.
- Homemade Wattlappam
- Ice cream
- Nungu
- Hand craft things
The event allowed students to apply the Project Management skills, gain exposure to real world business strategy scenarios and develop a deeper understanding of market dynamics. The students have observed the strategies employed by other sellers, Learnt about different pricing. Also, this exposure broadened the understanding of the market dynamics and gave valuable insights into the practical aspects of running a business with the practice of model and analyzed customer behavior.
This MINI FAIR participation has been instrumental in the academic journey and has prepared them for practical challenges. The students’ selling moll system strictly adhered to all the necessary food safety and hygiene standards set by the health authorities. The students fully committed to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, following proper food handling practices, with the quality ingredients.
This was considered as one of the club’s business activities in SED Mini Fair and fund-raising activities.
Fund Raising 2 – Selling beverages and snacks
Showing Thoovanam, Tamil movie, to university students, staff, and outside people as well in order to raise funds for the project management club’s future activities. For that, the team members prepared pop corns, beverages and snacks, and those sold them out to university students, staff, and outside people. The income received from this business.
Fund Raising 1 – Thoovanam Movie Display
As the Project Management Club of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, we entered into a fundraising activity by showing Thoovanam, a Sri Lankan Tamil movie, to university students, staff, and outside people as well in order to raise funds for the project management club’s future activities. For that, we got tickets from the team of that movie, and we sold them out to university students, staff, and outside people.
Thoovanam is a Sri Lankan Tamil film directed by Dr. Shivansuthan, and all the cast and crew of this movie are from Sri Lanka. This movie totally covers the Sri Lankan Tamil people’s tradition, changes of the modern life, and culture and all other good things. As a project management club, we intended to raise social awareness among students and other people by showing this movie. In the university, there were 50 staff members and 250 students who came to watch this movie in the applied science faculty smart hall at 2.15pm, and 119 outside people came to the evening show. We successfully completed this social awareness program and fund-raising activity with earnings of 50,500 LKR from tickets.
