Fund Raising 12 – Food Corner Fundraising Programme
The Project Management Club of the Department of Project Management, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, successfully organized a Tasty Food Corner fundraising event on April 23rd, 2025. This event was strategically set up at the faculty premises as part of the Freshers’ Inauguration Day celebrations. The food corner, which commenced at 9:00 AM, offered popular snacks such as freshly prepared corn and watermelon sticks, attracting a large number of students and staff members throughout the event. The programme provided an enjoyable atmosphere for the university community while simultaneously raising funds to support the Club’s future activities.
Fund Raising 11 – Photo Booth Fundraising Programme
In parallel with the Food Corner, the Project Management Club also organized a creative Photo Booth fundraising programme on April 23rd, 2025, as part of the Freshers’ Inauguration Day. The booth was set up at the Faculty of Business Studies from 9:00 AM onwards, offering students and staff a fun opportunity to capture memorable moments from this special day. The Photo Booth featured attractive decorations, customized props, and a well-designed backdrop, providing a professional and enjoyable photography experience for participants.
Fund Raising 10 – Ice Cream Selling Programme
On February 9, 2025, the Project Management Club organized the “Chill with Vanilla Ice Cream” programme, which took place at the university playground. Scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM, the event was designed to offer students a fun, casual, and relaxing break during a typically intense academic schedule. With temperatures rising during this time of year, the idea of serving cold and creamy vanilla ice cream resonated well with the student community, drawing a large turnout from various departments.
Each ice cream cone was sold at 100 rupees, and the sales exceeded expectations, indicating strong student interest and effective promotion by the organizing team. Beyond its purpose as a fundraising initiative, the event also provided a platform for students to mingle, unwind, and strengthen peer relationships in a stress-free setting. Club members took charge of everything from procurement and marketing to setup and service delivery, demonstrating excellent team coordination and responsibility. The success of this event reinforced the importance of student-led, low-budget initiatives that bring both enjoyment and financial support to the Club’s ongoing academic and extracurricular programs.
Fund Raising 09 – Panipuri Selling Programme
On February 8, 2025, the Project Management Club held the highly anticipated Panipuri Selling Programme at the university playground, starting at 10:30 AM. Known for its crisp shells, spicy fillings, and flavorful tamarind water, Panipuri is a popular street food that resonates with students across diverse backgrounds. The event aimed to deliver a nostalgic yet clean and student-friendly version of this beloved snack, served fresh and hygienically by Club members in a lively and welcoming environment.
The event was a standout success, with a large crowd gathering early in the day and sales running consistently throughout the morning and early afternoon. Students were excited not only about the food but also the social vibe the event created. It became more than a fundraiser—it was a cultural celebration and a shared experience. Each plate was priced affordably, allowing widespread participation while still contributing significantly to the Club’s fundraising objectives. Behind the scenes, members of the Project Management Club demonstrated meticulous preparation, from sourcing ingredients to ensuring food safety and presentation. The event also fostered essential soft skills such as time management, teamwork, and customer service. The Panipuri Programme was praised for its originality and execution, and students expressed keen interest in seeing similar food-based events in the future.
Fund Raising 8 – Lemon Juice Selling Programme
On January 22, 2025, the Project Management Club of the Department of Project Management at the University of Vavuniya successfully launched the “Fresh & Delicious Lemon Juice Day” on campus. This event was organized as a mid-week energy booster for students and staff, providing a refreshing and healthy beverage alternative during a busy academic period. The idea behind the program was to encourage hydration, promote wellness, and create a cheerful break in the students’ routines through a simple yet enjoyable activity.
The event saw active participation from students across all batches, who gathered to purchase and enjoy fresh lemon juice prepared under hygienic conditions. Each glass was sold at an affordable price of 50 rupees, making it accessible for all. Members of the Project Management Club managed the preparation, serving, and cash collection, allowing them to apply practical skills such as event coordination, communication, and financial handling. The program not only supported the Club’s fundraising goals but also fostered a sense of community and teamwork among student organizers. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing interest in similar health-oriented initiatives in the future.

Fund Raising 7 – Popcorn & Tea selling
On September 4, 2024, the Project Management Club organized a fundraising activity during a music concert held on University premises. The club sold popcorn, mint tea, and lemon tea to concert attendees. This initiative not only contributed to the fundraising efforts but also enhanced the overall concert experience for participants. The event was a success, showcasing the club’s ability to engage the University community while raising funds for future activities.
Fund Raising 6 – Fresh Drink Selling
On February 19, 2024, the Project Management Club organized a fundraising activity near the BS canteen, selling king coconut drinks. This initiative aimed to raise funds for club activities while promoting a healthy beverage choice among students. The event attracted a good number of participants, successfully contributing to the club’s financial goals and fostering a sense of community on campus.
Fund Raising 5 – Club T-Shirt Printing and Sales
As the Project Management Club, we printed a T-shirt for raising fund for the Club. We hope to take orders from the students and staff of University of Vavuniya and this sold within the University. We planned to use University logo, Club logo and name for the T-shirt like Faculty of Business Studies, Project Management Club, Design of T Shirt – 2020/2021, Colour – Dark Blue, Material – Cotton and Design Material – Embroider. Purchased a t-shirt Rs.1000 and sold it to Rs.1200/=. Total profit is Rs 45,200/-.
Fund Raising 4 – Earning from Food Carnival
As the Project Management Club of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, we entered into a fundraising activity by setting a food Carnival, to university students, staff, and outside people as well in order to raise funds for the project management club’s future activities. For that, we made different cultural foods and drinks, and sold them out to university students, staff, and outside people.
Fund Raising 3 – Setting Business Mall – SED Mini Fair
The Project Management Club of University of Vavuniya participated as one of the sellers in the Market event (SED Mini Fair) organized by Vavuniya District Secretariat Small Enterprise Development Unit in collaboration with Vavuniya University’s Business Linkage unit on 24th May 2023 at Pambaimadhu.
The club participation in the market event was a rewarding experience by small investment and profit by selling the following food and handy craft items.
- Homemade Wattlappam
- Ice cream
- Nungu
- Hand craft things
The event allowed students to apply the Project Management skills, gain exposure to real world business strategy scenarios and develop a deeper understanding of market dynamics. The students have observed the strategies employed by other sellers, Learnt about different pricing. Also, this exposure broadened the understanding of the market dynamics and gave valuable insights into the practical aspects of running a business with the practice of model and analyzed customer behavior.
This MINI FAIR participation has been instrumental in the academic journey and has prepared them for practical challenges. The students’ selling moll system strictly adhered to all the necessary food safety and hygiene standards set by the health authorities. The students fully committed to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, following proper food handling practices, with the quality ingredients.
This was considered as one of the club’s business activities in SED Mini Fair and fund-raising activities.
Fund Raising 2 – Selling beverages and snacks
Showing Thoovanam, Tamil movie, to university students, staff, and outside people as well in order to raise funds for the project management club’s future activities. For that, the team members prepared pop corns, beverages and snacks, and those sold them out to university students, staff, and outside people. The income received from this business.
Fund Raising 1 – Thoovanam Movie Display
As the Project Management Club of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, we entered into a fundraising activity by showing Thoovanam, a Sri Lankan Tamil movie, to university students, staff, and outside people as well in order to raise funds for the project management club’s future activities. For that, we got tickets from the team of that movie, and we sold them out to university students, staff, and outside people.
Thoovanam is a Sri Lankan Tamil film directed by Dr. Shivansuthan, and all the cast and crew of this movie are from Sri Lanka. This movie totally covers the Sri Lankan Tamil people’s tradition, changes of the modern life, and culture and all other good things. As a project management club, we intended to raise social awareness among students and other people by showing this movie. In the university, there were 50 staff members and 250 students who came to watch this movie in the applied science faculty smart hall at 2.15pm, and 119 outside people came to the evening show. We successfully completed this social awareness program and fund-raising activity with earnings of 50,500 LKR from tickets.
