Establishment of Job Bank
The Human Resource Department and club has developed a project for the developing a Job Bank for the Faculty of Business Studies. The Job Bank is initiated with the primary purpose of developing a potential platform for the students to find out their dreams jobs and to give an industry exposure to the undergraduate students and fresh graduates of Faculty of Business Studies. This supports the students personal and professional career developments. This project has been approved by the faculty board and the Senate and will be commencing during the early period of 2022. |
Webinar on How to approach the HRM Questions in G.C.E.A/L Examination
The Department of Human Resource Management conducted an online workshop on A/L past paper discussion for commerce stream students as a community outreach activity on the 13th of October 2021. This workshop majorly aims to facilitate the A/L Commerce stream students to prepare themselves for answering the HR-related questions in the Business Studies subject. Around 60 participants, including students and teachers, actively participated in the session. The Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, commenced the program, and the Vice-Chancellor, University of Vavuniya, addressed the students and guided them on approaching the questions and discussed the answering techniques to be followed in the A/L examinations to manage the time successfully and to answer the questions effectively. The resource persons discussed the 15 years of HR-related past paper questions with the students and clarified them. |
MOU signing with CIPM and hSenid Business Solution PLC
The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka and the Department of Human Resource Management of the Faculty of Business Studies at the University of Vavuniya signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The MOU was signed on the 28th February 2022. On the same day, another MOU was signed between the Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, and hSenid Business Solution PLC on the commitment to share the goal of enhancing effective teaching and learning for undergraduates of the University. Mr. Jayantha Abeyrathna – Treasurer and Council Member, Saman Jayawikrama – Council Member CIPM and G.Weerathunga- Chief Officer /Director Professional and Academic CIPM signed the MOU on behalf of CIPM and Mr. Sampath Jayasundara Chief Executive Officer/Director- and Mr. Mahinda Pathirana – Head of Enterprise Delivery & Support, signed the MOU on behalf of hSenid Business Solutions PLC. |
