The Econ Club of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, launched a Waste Paper Collection Initiative on 23rd February 2026 as part of the 5S System implementation activities. This programme was initiated following the approval granted to conduct a Waste Paper Recycling and Paper Clay Making Activity. As the first phase of the initiative, labelled waste paper collection boxes were strategically placed at several key locations within the faculty, including the Dean’s Office, Assistant Registrar’s Office, LH-01 Lecture Hall, and the Department of Business Economics premises.
In addition, awareness was created among both academic and administrative staff, as well as students, on proper paper disposal practices and the importance of recycling. This initiative contributes to promoting environmental sustainability, enhancing workplace organization, and encouraging responsible waste management practices within the faculty. It also reflects the Econ Club’s commitment to fostering a cleaner and greener faculty environment.
