The Department of Project Management organized a field study visit for fourth-year PM students to projectbased organizations in Colombo on September 25-26, 2024. The visit aimed to expose students to real-world
project management practices in various industries, including construction, environmental management, and
manufacturing. They visited Port City Colombo, the Central Environmental Authority, Lotus Tower, and
Unidil Packaging. Students engaged in discussions on project portfolio management, cost-benefit analysis, and
environmental impact. They also explored internship opportunities and developed project proposals for smallscale educational and entertainment facilities. The visit enhanced students’ practical competencies and industry
connections.
