The Workshop on Environmental Risk for Projects was held on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024,

Department of Project Management, University of Vavuniya. The session was led by Prof. Dr. S.
Suresh Surendran, a distinguished development academic scholar and expert advisor in civil and
environmental engineering. Dr. Surendran, a director at an engineering consultancy and a professor
at Loughborough University, shared his extensive experience on managing environmental risks in
project settings.
The workshop focused on identifying potential environmental risks in project management,
understanding the complexities involved in mitigating these risks, and applying practical solutions
within various engineering and development contexts. Attendees, including students and faculty,
benefited from Dr. Surendran’s insights on sustainable project practices and the importance of
