The Project Management Club of the Department of Project Management, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, successfully organized a Tasty Food Corner fundraising event on April 23rd, 2025. This event was strategically set up at the faculty premises as part of the Freshers’ Inauguration Day celebrations. The food corner, which commenced at 9:00 AM, offered popular snacks such as freshly prepared corn and watermelon sticks, attracting a large number of students and staff members throughout the event. The programme provided an enjoyable atmosphere for the university community while simultaneously raising funds to support the Club’s future activities.<\/p>\n

In parallel with the Food Corner, the Project Management Club also organized a creative Photo Booth fundraising programme on April 23rd, 2025, as part of the Freshers’ Inauguration Day. The booth was set up at the Faculty of Business Studies from 9:00 AM onwards, offering students and staff a fun opportunity to capture memorable moments from this special day. The Photo Booth featured attractive decorations, customized props, and a well-designed backdrop, providing a professional and enjoyable photography experience for participants.<\/p>\n

On February 9, 2025, the Project Management Club organized the \u201cChill with Vanilla Ice Cream\u201d programme, which took place at the university playground. Scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM, the event was designed to offer students a fun, casual, and relaxing break during a typically intense academic schedule. With temperatures rising during this time of year, the idea of serving cold and creamy vanilla ice cream resonated well with the student community, drawing a large turnout from various departments.
\nEach ice cream cone was sold at 100 rupees, and the sales exceeded expectations, indicating strong student interest and effective promotion by the organizing team. Beyond its purpose as a fundraising initiative, the event also provided a platform for students to mingle, unwind, and strengthen peer relationships in a stress-free setting. Club members took charge of everything from procurement and marketing to setup and service delivery, demonstrating excellent team coordination and responsibility. The success of this event reinforced the importance of student-led, low-budget initiatives that bring both enjoyment and financial support to the Club\u2019s ongoing academic and extracurricular programs.<\/p>\n

On February 8, 2025, the Project Management Club held the highly anticipated Panipuri Selling Programme at the university playground, starting at 10:30 AM. Known for its crisp shells, spicy fillings, and flavorful tamarind water, Panipuri is a popular street food that resonates with students across diverse backgrounds. The event aimed to deliver a nostalgic yet clean and student-friendly version of this beloved snack, served fresh and hygienically by Club members in a lively and welcoming environment.
\nThe event was a standout success, with a large crowd gathering early in the day and sales running consistently throughout the morning and early afternoon. Students were excited not only about the food but also the social vibe the event created. It became more than a fundraiser\u2014it was a cultural celebration and a shared experience. Each plate was priced affordably, allowing widespread participation while still contributing significantly to the Club\u2019s fundraising objectives. Behind the scenes, members of the Project Management Club demonstrated meticulous preparation, from sourcing ingredients to ensuring food safety and presentation. The event also fostered essential soft skills such as time management, teamwork, and customer service. The Panipuri Programme was praised for its originality and execution, and students expressed keen interest in seeing similar food-based events in the future.<\/p>\n

On January 22, 2025, the Project Management Club of the Department of Project Management at the University of Vavuniya successfully launched the \u201cFresh & Delicious Lemon Juice Day\u201d on campus. This event was organized as a mid-week energy booster for students and staff, providing a refreshing and healthy beverage alternative during a busy academic period. The idea behind the program was to encourage hydration, promote wellness, and create a cheerful break in the students’ routines through a simple yet enjoyable activity.
\nThe event saw active participation from students across all batches, who gathered to purchase and enjoy fresh lemon juice prepared under hygienic conditions. Each glass was sold at an affordable price of 50 rupees, making it accessible for all. Members of the Project Management Club managed the preparation, serving, and cash collection, allowing them to apply practical skills such as event coordination, communication, and financial handling. The program not only supported the Club’s fundraising goals but also fostered a sense of community and teamwork among student organizers. As the Project Management Club, we printed a T-shirt for raising fund for the Club. We hope to take orders from the students and staff of University of Vavuniya and this sold within the University. We planned to use University logo, Club logo and name for the T-shirt like Faculty of Business Studies, Project Management Club, Design of T Shirt – 2020\/2021, Colour \u2013 Dark Blue, Material \u2013 Cotton and Design Material \u2013 Embroider. Purchased a t-shirt Rs.1000 and sold it to Rs.1200\/=. Total profit is Rs 45,200\/-.<\/p>\n

The Project Management Club of University of Vavuniya participated as one of the sellers in the Market event (SED Mini Fair) organized by Vavuniya District Secretariat Small Enterprise Development Unit in collaboration with Vavuniya University\u2019s Business Linkage unit on 24th May 2023 at Pambaimadhu.<\/p>\n

The club participation in the market event was a rewarding experience by small investment and profit by selling the following food and handy craft items.<\/p>\n
