Risk &amp; Sustainable Development Scientist with an established record of leading, developing and<br \/>\ndelivering research, enterprise, teaching, training &amp; scholarly activities. Over 41 years he a variety of roles as<br \/>\nProfessor, Senior Lecturer, Senior Engineer, Principal Scientist in water-related risk and sustainable development and<br \/>\nRegistered Programme and Project Manager (practitioner). He has proven 41 years of academic and professional<br \/>\nexperience by working for Universities, Government Regulators, Operating Authorities, Environmental &amp; International<br \/>\nDevelopment Agencies, and consultants &amp; contractors.<\/p>\n<p>He holds a PhD in Water\/Civil Engineering, an MSc in Water Pollution Control, a PgDip in Community Water Supply &amp;<br \/>\nSanitation, and BSc in Environmental Science &amp; Technology and Civil Engineering. He is a registered practitioner for<br \/>\nProgramme\/Project management, professional risk analyst, scenario modeller, demand manager, strategy planner,<br \/>\ncollaborator\/coordinator, and a trained team leader able to make appropriate decisions, support, direct and reform.<br \/>\nHe has developed, led &amp; managed R&amp;D Theme, within the Joint Dep of Env. (DEFRA) and Environment Agency R&#038;D<br \/>\nprogramme; applied, secured, and managed \u00a318m direct &amp; \u00a320m partnership funding and 71 R&amp;D projects in 8 years.<br \/>\nFor universities, he led, &amp; coordinated Partners from over 15 EU countries, and developed proposals for 3 EU Horizon<br \/>\n2020 (\u00a320m) and ERASMUS calls. He has published 85 papers in peer-reviewed journals and refereed conferences, 20<br \/>\nresearch reports<\/p>\n<p>He is a self-motivated, ambitious, dynamic, and creative person and has the proven ability to knowledge-technology<br \/>\ntransfer &amp; capability development across boundaries, with multidisciplinary, multicultural groups on complex topics.<br \/>\nHe is known for taking a long-term scientific view and can develop and implement comprehensive sustainable risk-<br \/>\nbased system designs by using top-down ideas with bottom-up evidence to \u201cproof of concept\u201d &amp; deliver strategic or<br \/>\noperational research.
