Ice Cream Selling <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Econ Club of Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, Sri Lanka organized an Ice Cream Sale as its first and foremost activity.<\/p>\n

It was held on 15th<\/sup> February 2024 from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm in front of Soosairathnam Block. The main purpose of this activity is to raise funds. with the contribution of all the members, this activity was very successful.<\/p>\n

Webinar on Mastering Effective Research Techniques<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Economics Club organized an online webinar titled \u2018Mastering Effective Research Techniques\u2019 on 7th<\/sup> August 2024. The session was conducted by Professor M.A. Yasantha Madurapperuma, Head of the Department of Business Economics at the Faculty of Management & Finance, University of Colombo.<\/p>\n

The purpose of this webinar was to provide participants with essential knowledge on how to conduct thorough and effective research. It also focused on the critical techniques for gathering, analysing, and presenting data efficiently.<\/p>\n

Beautification of University Premises<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Economics Club undertook a beautification \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 project \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 on \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 01st<\/sup> September 2024, transforming the backyard premises \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 of<\/p>\n

Soosairathnam and Balakrishnan Blocks throughout the day. The purpose of \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 this \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 beautification project was to create a visually pleasing environment that fosters a positive atmosphere for learning, creativity, and personal growth. Additionally, such improvements contribute to enhancing students\u2019 mental well-being and help in reducing stress.<\/p>\n

Edu Aid-Session 2 Seminar<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Economics Club organized the Edu Aid-Session 2 seminar for Advanced Level (A\/L) students of Poovarasakulam Tamil Maha Vidyalaya on 05th<\/sup> September 2025. Fifteen students participated in the seminar, which focused on enhancing key skills such as time management (including strategies for allocating time to individual questions),<\/p>\n

critical thinking (specifically how to apply theoretical knowledge to exam questions), and effective writing techniques.<\/p>\n

Free Eye Examination Test<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Economics Club organized a Free Eye Examination Test on 05th<\/sup> September 2025, as part of our health and safety initiatives. The primary objective of this program was to raise awareness about the importance of eye health and facilitate the early detection of potential vision problems. This initiative was conducted in collaboration with Wickramarachchi Opticians, one of Sri Lanka’s leading eye care professionals since 1976. Mr. M. Ameen Jinnah, Branch Manager of Vavuniya Wickramarachchi Opticians, along with Mr. Sathurshan and Mrs. Dhivya Dharshini provided optical services to the staff and students. In addition to the eye examination, participants were offered special discounts on a wide range of spectacles, including 50% off on selected frames, 50% off on sunglasses, and 30% off on premium models.<\/p>\n
