The Workshop on Environmental Risk for Projects was held on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024,
\nfrom 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the SH3 Lecture Hall, organized by the Project Management Club,
\nDepartment of Project Management, University of Vavuniya. The session was led by Prof. Dr. S.
\nSuresh Surendran, a distinguished development academic scholar and expert advisor in civil and
\nenvironmental engineering. Dr. Surendran, a director at an engineering consultancy and a professor
\nat Loughborough University, shared his extensive experience on managing environmental risks in
\nproject settings.
\nThe workshop focused on identifying potential environmental risks in project management,
\nunderstanding the complexities involved in mitigating these risks, and applying practical solutions
\nwithin various engineering and development contexts. Attendees, including students and faculty,
\nbenefited from Dr. Surendran\u2019s insights on sustainable project practices and the importance of
\nconsidering environmental factors in project planning and execution. The session was a valuable
\nlearning experience for those interested in managing environmental risks in projects.<\/p>\n
