The HR Club successfully conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) Program on Drug Prevention
\naimed for HR Specialization students. The programme held on 12th and 13th of September 2024, the
\nprogram focused on equipping students with the knowledge and skills to deliver effective drug
\nprevention education to younger audiences in schools. This initiative is part of a larger effort to
\ncombat drug abuse by empowering students to act as ambassadors of drug prevention in their
\ncommunities.
\nThe training program was conducted at BH2, Faculty of Business Studies with 15 university students
\nparticipating from HR Department. The sessions were facilitated by experienced professionals from
\nDistrict Secretariat. The program covered a comprehensive curriculum on drug prevention, including
\nthe causes and effects of drug abuse, prevention strategies, and the role of education in curbing
\nsubstance abuse. In addition to theoretical knowledge, participants engaged in practical exercises
\nsuch as scenario-based learning, which helped them develop effective communication and
\npresentation skills.
\nThroughout the program, the participants displayed great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to the
\ncause. The interactive nature of the training allowed students to ask questions and engage in
\ndiscussions, fostering a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding drug abuse and the best
\npractices in prevention. By the end of the training, the participants were confident in their ability to
\ndeliver drug prevention education to school students.
\nAs a follow-up, the trained students will participate in Phase Two of the project, where they will visit
\nlocal youths in their respective communities to conduct workshops on drug prevention, applying the
\nskills and knowledge gained from this program. This cascading model of knowledge dissemination
\nensures a broader impact as more students are reached and educated on drug prevention.
\nIn conclusion, the Training of Trainers Program was a significant success, fulfilling its goal of
\npreparing university students to take an active role in combating drug abuse through education. The
\nHR Club is committed to supporting these trainers as they move forward in the second phase of this
\ninitiative, ensuring a sustained and positive impact on the community.<\/p>\n
