Many organizations in Sri Lanka such as universities, schools, vocational training institutions, youth service centres, government ministries, and private sector institutions are involved in the provision of career guidance at present. The UGC Circular No.819 provides guidelines on \u201cEstablishment and Operation of Career Guidance Units in Universities\u201d to empower the undergraduates to set their career in the right track. The emphasis of career guidance services at universities is on placement at employment generally relevant to the area of study and the specific skills acquired.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

    \n\u21d2Webinar 01 – Gateway to Industry:<\/strong><\/summary>\n

    The Career Guidance Cell of the Faculty of Business Studies organized a webinar on \u201cGateway to the Industry\u201d.The resource person for this session is Mr. K. Nishaaharan, who is the Chief Manager and Zone Chief of Union Bank of Colombo PLC.This webinar was held on 28th of March, 2021 (Sunday) at 4.00pm via Zoom and Thirty-Six faculty students from third and fourth year participated in this webinar. The resource person shared his massive 23 years of experience in the banking industry and stated valuable points about the changing trend of the industries and then requested the students to raise their questions to clarify their doubts. This program was really fruitful for the participants. Finally, this webinar was ended at around 5.30pm.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n

    \n\u21d2Webinar 02 – Promoting English Language Skills and Applications:<\/strong><\/summary>\n

    The Career Guidance Cell of the Faculty of Business Studies has organized a webinar on \u201cPromoting English Language Skills and Applications\u201d on 23rd of January, 2022 at 8.30 am. Ms. P. Sarmatha from the Department of English Language Teaching has conducted this webinar in English medium. She has given different ideas and practical examples to enhance the English Language skills and how the students can apply it in their studies and profession. This webinar focused on the first year Business Studies and Project Management students and almost 80 students were interactively participated. The session was over at 10.00 am.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n

    \n\u21d2Webinar 03 – What Lead to Success and Develop to your Creativity:<\/strong><\/summary>\n

    The Career Guidance Cell of the Faculty of Business Studies has organized a webinar on \u201cWhat Leads to Success and Develop Your Creativity\u201d on 08th and 09th of October, 2021 at 7.00pm. Mr. A. Liston Rajanikanth and Mrs. K. Sivappriya from Department of Manpower and Employment have conducted this webinar in Tamil medium. They have given useful ideas to our students to pave their ways towards success. Both have made the session interesting by explaining the areas with real practical examples in Sri Lankan context. Almost 60 students were participated in this webinar.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n

    \n\u21d2Webinar 04 – Career Development:<\/strong><\/summary>\n

    A webinar on \u201cCareer Development\u201d was organized by Career Guidance Cell of the Faculty of Business Studies on 09th of October, 2021 at 6.00pm. Mr. R. Migunuwala from Department of Manpower and Employment participated as the resource person in this webinar and it was conducted in Sinhala medium. He has pointed out basic tips to develop his\/her career and explained them with real world examples. Since he is the Career Guidance Officer, he shared his own experiences encountered. Almost 40 students were participated in this session.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n
