Aqeela Ijas, together with the MOU Coordinator, Ms. A. Prasheenaa, participated in the \u201cHR Hangout\u201d Day Programme along with two undergraduate students one from the Second Year, Mr.N.M.Nafrid with the registration number 2022\/BS\/181 and one from the Third Year\u2014representing the specialization in Human Resource Management Ms. W.A.P.J.Fernando with the registration number 2021\/BS\/126. The programme was organized as a knowledge-sharing session by the department\u2019s MOU partner, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka, and was held on 30th January 2026 at the CIPM Main Auditorium, Colombo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The central component of the event was a guest lecture delivered by Ms. Thushari Premaratne, Senior Manager \u2013 IFS, on the topic <em>\u201cHow AI is Transforming People Management.\u201d<\/em> The session provided valuable insights into the evolving role of artificial intelligence in contemporary human resource practices, highlighting its impact on decision-making, talent management and organizational effectiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The guest lecture was followed by an interactive Question and Answer session, during which HR professionals and students representing various industries and universities actively engaged with the speaker. This segment facilitated meaningful discussions and enabled participants to clarify concepts, share perspectives, and enhance their understanding of emerging trends in people management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme concluded with a networking session, which offered participants an opportunity to interact with professionals from diverse industries.
